Metal mugs can be used for baking all sorts of things in your Sun Oven. They’re inexpensive and can be found in stores that sell camping equipment.
I like to use them to make single serving size frittatas. They go from Sun Oven to plate in under 30 minutes and each diner can choose their own add-ins. Just like at an omelette station in a fancy restaurant.
When serving for Sunday brunch prepare any ingredients that need to be precooked, such as bacon and onions, in the Sun Oven on Saturday. That way everything is ready to go as soon as the sun is high enough for solar cooking. The frittatas can also be refrigerated in covered containers for up to three days and used for making quick breakfast sandwiches to go on busy weekdays.
