If you’re looking for a weekend get away the 9th Annual Bisbee Solar Cook-off & Expo. will be held on Saturday, June 4th at the Bisbee Farmers Market from 8 a.m to 1 p.m. I have been to the past three, first as a spectator and last year as a participant and had always had a wonderful time. It’s where I got my introduction to solar cooking and where I first saw a Global Sun Oven in action. Whether you choose to enter the cook-off or not I highly recommend stopping by. Bisbee is a delightful vacation destination with something for everyone. You could stay in a vintage airstream at the Shady Dell, have breakfast (and a slice of pie) at Dot’s Diner, attend a Bisbee Copper Kings baseball game at the oldest professional ballpark in the U.S., go on a ghost tour of Old Bisbee, and more. All in one weekend.
