The time has finally come. We are moving to Southern California.  We spent the past few days looking for a rental – with the help of a slightly confused real estate agent who didn’t quite get my concern that the house we choose might have “too much shade”. The overcast skies didn’t make things any easier but considering the highly competitive market for rentals in the area we had to move quickly and hope for the best.

Despite the continuous cloud cover for the three days we were there, predicts sunny skies for the foreseeable future. The next week will be a frenzy of packing (tomorrow I tackle the daunting task of dismantling my kitchen), cleaning, loading the truck, driving, unloading, and unpacking. Once we’re settled in, I hope no longer than a week, I’ll be back with more recipes and new adventures in Sun Oven cooking.

I’m looking forward to the challenges of solar cooking in the (slightly) less than ideal climate of the San Gabriel Valley
